Mola Dudle is a musical project which grows on a teamwork who brings together artists from different areas of the fine arts, such as plastic arts, video, theatre and dance.
The band has already released two albums: MobÃlia(meaning ..furniture.., recorded in 2001 via telephone and mail by Nanu and Miguel Cabral. This first album contains several micro-songs performed with handicraft-like techniques and household devices, like vacuum-cleaners, curtains, mattresses, TV sets, water taps and pencils) and O futuro só se diz em particular-- (released in December 2003. In this album an atmosphere of an imaginary time is conceived, reminding the 1920s).
      
Mola Dudle, and more specifically Nanu..s arrangements and Miguel Leiria Pereira..s contrabass, stands for a very particular way of transmitting experiences through music. They count on the precious support from Manuela Azevedo (from the band ..Clã..), Armando Teixeira (head of the projects ..Balla.. and ..Bullet..), among others. The producer is Mário Barreiros (who is also the producer of the well-known Pedro Abrunhosa and the famous duo Maria João & Mário Laginha). Paulo Cancela de Abreu (film-maker), João Pedro Gomes (ilustrator, VJ and motion graphics artist) and Francisco Suspiro (cartoon director of A minha FamÃlia é uma Animação, showed on the TV-channel SIC) are in charge of audio-visual features. The light design is arranged by David Hinrichs. As for the performing arts and singing, Mola Dudle can count on Eléonore Didier and João Lobo (choreography) as well as Margarida and Anabela Moreira, Sara Fernandes, PatrÃcia Vasconcelos and Carla Bolito.
The album -O futuro só se diz em particular- (you only can tell future in private) has been developed in the run of two years, building up on an intense bibliographical and historical music research concentrating on the 1920s. The aim of the album is however not to reconstruct a musical genre but to use certain characteristic features of the time as an important means of artistic articulation. The edition by the record label Ananana has allowed the band to bring the project to the stages and theatres, thereby achieving a goal which the project had always aimed at.
For this purpose the band has been enlarged and now counts with MATZE (theatrical representation, keyboards, vocals and guitars), DIOGO DIAS (doublebass) and MIGUEL CINTRA (drums and vocals). Along with NANU this has been the setup in which the band has appeared in the "LÂMPADA"-shows and as the home-band in the TV-show "A REVOLTA DOS PASTÉIS DE NATA".
In the end music is to be a memorable breathing of images and an impossible theatre!
