About Me

Todd Ashley Hodulik pronounced (Hud-Lick) was born in Encino, CA and grew up in Palos Verdes. Unlike most young musicians who were inspired by rock or punk guitarists, Hodulik found inspiration in the playing of Pat Metheny, Pat Martino and improvisational music. Upon graduating from high school he spent a few years playing and touring with several SoCal rock & funk bands before settling into Musician's Institute where he earned a degree from G.I.T.If you ask him why he plays, he'll reply "music is my passion and I'm really lucky to be doing it for a living" and that the best part about being a full-time musician is that he "doesn't have to have a day job (knock on wood)".So far, he is keeping that dream alive. Aside from recording his first release (which he describes as "nylon string contemporary ruff jazz"), he plays 4 to 7 nights a week around SoCal with his band and is often flown around the country to perform with a jazz group. He relies on his Godin Multiac Nylon SA, Weber mandolin, Fender USA Strat, Gibson L4 and ES335.Todd has performed for such clients as Coca Cola, Samsung, Pioneer, Ford, Sysco Foods, AT&T and Toyota to name a few. Todd is centrally located in beautiful Palm Springs California, just a short drive to San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas Nevada and Phoenix Arizona. The Palm Springs Airport connects us to anywhere else you might need us.In March of 2003, Hodulik started getting spins on 102.3 KJJZ Palm Springs with "Sedona," and on June 1, he signed a string endorsement with Gore Music, Elixir Strings. In February 2005 his music was featured on The Weather Channel on the program, Local on the 8's. You can purchase the record at www.cdbaby.com/cd/hodulik

Sounds Like: " He achieves a pleasing, ear-catching soundby using a combination of 3 straight nylon and 3 steel-wound nylon strings on his guitar,as seen on the cover of his debut release, Sedona.""Sedona offers a refreshingly different sound. Hodulik is a fine player and composer, and he wrote or co-wroteall of the selections, with standout tracks being Isle of Indio, Ear Candy and Song for Ashley. The southwest feel throughout Sedona adds just the right flavor and creates an evocative, easy groove ".Linda Goshay....JazzNowInteractive.com-- CDBABY LINK for TODD ASHLEY HODULIK: Sedona --
