About Me

Osmosis is a jazz group that was formed in 1994 and has been very active in the Hampton Roads area. Playing many of the areas best jazz venues as well as playing annually for the city of Hampton (Coliseum Central) for the “Hampton Jazz Festival” at various locations throughout the city. Osmosis consists of guitarist Larry Jarvis and bassist Jacques Jones. Osmosis were recently special guest performers in Nashville, TN at the internationally renowned Victor Wooten Bass/ Nature Camp August 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2006. Jacques Jones (Bass Tribute) and Larry Jarvis (Stay) appear on Victor Wooten’s latest CD, “Soul Circus”, which debuted at #4 on Billboard Magazine's contemporary Jazz charts April 14, 2005. They also recently performed in concert in Brown County, Indiana at the 2nd annual highly popular “Funk Fest” August 25, 26, and 27, 2006 where they revealed a well kept secret. Their ability to play the “Funk”! Osmosis paid tribute to George Clinton and “Parliament Funkadelic” by covering some of their earlier more obscure recordings that they felt needed to be heard. Osmosis plays traditional as well as contemporary jazz with a slight twist you will have to hear and see to appreciate. Osmosis promises to enhance your affair with confidence that you will be totally satisfied and want to hear ….one more!
