Hi,
I'm Koil, and I first started DJing when I was based in Tokyo, Japan and then in NYC, USA.
Statik Pulse used to be the name of my live-to-air industrial radio show on Up 107.5FM. I broadcast the show over the airwaves in Auckland, NZ and streamed it live around the world for a year.
When I started playing in Melbourne, Australia, I made Statik Pulse my new DJ name. I did a residency for a year with Darkevents playing weekly at a variety of events including Splatterball/Heresy/Assembly/Transfusion/Achtung/Psycho Circus/Geisha/Espionage & Lash, with occasional guest sets at Cabaret Nocturne & Sekt as well.
I prefer my music heavy dark and stompy. Luckily for me - other people do too. w00t
I specialize in industrial dancefloor (Cyber-Industrial, TBM, EBM, Terror EBM, Aggrotech, Powernoize, Industrial Techno, Industrial Hardcore & Darkcore). If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about go check Wikipedia :)
At my home events (Elektrode, Kore, Battery, Glitch, Dystruxion & ePH NYC), I also played faster stuff like Noize, Breakcore, Darkcore, Nu-skool Gabba, Terror/Speedcore and evil DnB depending on the event.
In addition to track selection and beatmixing, I also add exclusive tracks, custom remixes and audio edits to make my sets unique. I get to make a lot of my own music on the Death Elektro label, so you could say Statik Pulse gives me the opportunity to fuck with other peoples music, which is challenging but fun.
I also represent the Death Elektro label and I've had the privilege to play in clubs around the world (NZ, AUS, JPN, USA) alongside some very talented, innovative and dedicated DJs and musicians and I love to throw in any exclusive and unreleased tracks I recieve.
