"I'll drive yah' insane...like a loon! Er...looney toon...in a lagoon...with a spoon.."
1930's
December 19, 1931, an Itallian animator creates the concept of Rabbit toons with creation; Reginald Rabbit. His design wasn't much, and his life seemed a bit rocky at times, but little would anyone know (or expect) that Reginald would recieve attention from the USA. At the time, artists were only interested in cute tied together with vioence all in one conveinient package. Therfore, Reggie was fist created looking like an infant bunny, whom got in a series of eventful adventures. He was the typical Dennis the menace of his day.
1940's
In the early 1940's Reginald was taken up a notch. His design became more complex, and detailed than previously drawn out. However, he remained the same age (as far as the viewers could tell) and appeared in several comic strips, though so popular enough to really be titled "Famous".
1950's
Late 1950's, Reggie gets out of the rut he'd been put in for several eras and pursues in his conquest for fame in his career. Artists made him taller and seemingly more attractive. He developed a sense of humor as well as his own personality. The toon in noticed by several more fans, and he was getting the attention and reviews he so desperately deserves.
1960's
Reginald made appearenced as background characters in several cartoon shorts, sometimes even receieved a speaking role. That's when his personality clearly developed onwards. He grew several feet, and seemed to be evolving into a teen. And though the artist tried to make him seem like every typical, annoying toon, Reggie still attained a bit of Itallian charm from his creator.
"Ah, foh'get about it! He nuttin' but a wise ass"
1970's
The rebellious hippie age got animators even more interested into Reggie. He stayed the same height, and remained in his teenage years, yet earned a few extra details. He could be seen with his ears smoothed back as if mocking the style men would partake in when they greased back their hair. Giving him a major title;Greaser. He continued to be the same Ittalian trouble maker, and even accomplished being as annoying and menacing as animators and writers had hoped he could one day become.
1980's
Things seemed to be cooling off with Reggie in the early 1980's, and the toon was brough out of his teenage years and into young adult-hood. He was designed to appear in his early 20's, and the title "Greaser" was changed to "Gangster" in late 80's. The concept of his attitude became more and more violent(as toons should always be), but they shaped him up into a good liar. They gave the toon a Tux in 1986, but tried to make him look a bit less like a human and more like a cartoon by the absence of his pants. He was known to be the one whom always carried a concealed weapon in his tux, or the smoothe-talking member of his Gang.
1990's
The green rabbit was taken down a few pegs in this era by making him seem less of a threat, and more of the fancy and well put together toon. He seemed to be looking and sounding more like a Goodfella's character, but kept his vioence and annoyance by weapons, puns, gags, and even by appearing drunk in a comic short. He was also more detailed, and taken out of his early 20's, to late 20's.
Early 2000's
As the era's of toon violence died down, so did Reggie. He wasn't heard of much, but popped in comic strips and tv specials every so often. The toon was back in a rut, but it wasn't so much his problem as the animators' problem. His life was care-free, and he settled down in a home in sunny Burbank, California, being partially owned by Warner Brother inc.
Now
Today Reggie hasn't been heard from in almost five years, his roles in comics and tv specials were diminished from little to none at all in 2004, and children as well as adults began to care less about the vioent days of toons, making them all seem just "swell" and "innocent". But toons will be toons, and Reggie hasn't stopped swingin' or making people laugh yet. And as we all know, it's laughter that keeps a toon alive.
