Born and raised in Inglewood, California, Eric "E*J*" Scoggins is an extraordinary singer, song writer, arranger, and vocal producer. His skill to take another's instrumental beat and create a soulful classic through his intense lyrics, complex harmonies, and unique vocals is impeccable. Standing at 6'5", he is unlike any other R&B crooner who has fallen into the constraints of commercial music. He is influenced by many, which is reflected in his style. He can capture the audience either singing a Luther Vandross-esque classic song, belting out a jazzy gospel number, singing an up-tempo club banger, or showing his range and vocal control on a slow tempo sensual ballad.Coming from a singing family, he has been surrounded by music all of his life. Singing in church since the age of 3, he has learned much, but continues on his quest to ultimately be the best. He has participated in many choirs, and sung for many events in and outside of the church. At the age of 16, Eric decided to take music a little more seriously and began writing a new song every month. He then began to work with various producers and musicians to help make his dream of singing a reality. As of late, M-80 is the mastermind producer behind both "Take It Slo" and the latest "2 Damn In Luv". In addition, Eric began to work with 16 BARZ, an aspiring rapper/producer. There collaborations are best personified in the summer 2007 hit "Get Like Me" which is featured on 16's CD versatilityBARZ:2000WATEVER. The three work hard together to keep the ears of others satisfied.Now at the age of 21, Eric is a senior at UC Berkeley. He continuously travels back and forth from Oakland to LA in order to record and make a name for himself. With his talent, perseverance, and perfectionist mindset, he will definitely get his goals accomplished.
