We're a collective of spoken-word poets who also engage in social justice work, education, activism and food. Between the four of us, we know pretty much everything and can do pretty much anything. Eric (2007 Madison Champ) and Guante (2006 Madison Champ) were on the 2006 National Poetry Slam team from Madison, and those two, along with Josh this time, also competed in 2007.
All four of us are involved with YouthSpeaks Wisconsin, working with high school students on their poetry, organizing slams and open mics and more. Tracie and Josh also co-host the Cipher Zone on WORT 88.9FM Madison, bringing you the best underground hip hop, soul and spoken-word. El Guante is also an emcee (check the top 8) and plays regularly in Madison and elsewhere with his crew.
Bring us to your city or college and we'll rock the stage like Prince shooting a barrel of monkeys with a crossbow.
