Review for DC Snipers / Shop Fronts split single from
www.UNDERGROUNDMEDICINE.COM
The debut release for two killer new NYC bands (Jersey & Brooklyn if you
wanna get technical). The 'Snipers unload the Crime/Cleveland '75 type
action while Shop Fronts bring it KBD/Rip Off style! We often say
recommended, but this time we say MANDATORY!

Two bands I’d heard a lot about but really had no idea what to expect
from this single. Turns out they both play great punkrock! Not that
original but damn good.. They fit perfectly together too, coming from
kinda the same place but sounding a little different. Can’t really pinpoint
the Snipers but the Shop Fronts sound very Aussie punkrock.. The DC
Snipers play old fashioned punk too, more Rip Offsy maybe.. Don’t
know.. It’s cool shit. Just check ‘em out!

Shop Fronts/DC Snipers- split 7â€
-4 song split single here that is the debut release from both bands. Cool DIY packaging. The Shop Fronts got kind of a Plungers meets Loudmouths rock n roll attack. They just recorded a grip of new songs, so keep an eye out for them in the future. The DC Snipers, on top of having a pretty cool name, churn out 2 lo fi slop rock tracks that sound a lil like the Reatards (with sung vox) on the first track and Teengenerate on the 2nd tune. Cool single!

F-HOLE
“Gives A Fuck†7†EP
The second EP by this great SF band. While a lot of local combos tend to be too garage or too- I dunno- image conscious or something, F-Hole just belts out drunk’n’rude punk the way mom used to make. No frills, no costumes- just guitar attack, snot, male / female vox and a DIY ethic. I suggest you check both of their singles out. (MC)

Smashing Transistors
F-HOLE "...Gives A Fuck" (F-Hole 7in EP) They say they give a fuck but do they really? It doesn't sound like they don't care what others think is cool. That's what makes real punk rock to my ears. 5 short songs that sound like they should be coming out of ghetto blaster speakers at a skatepark. That is if skateparks played cool music. Now it's all Wu-Tang and MxPx (actually-I haven't been to a skatepark in a few years now and part of the reason I stopped was because of the bullshit wigger gangsta super moves that were going down-like everything else in the world-I imagine it hasn't got any better.) Just fast and quick and dirty. They could've open for the Circle Jerks (when they were good) as well as the Lazy Cowgirls (when they were good) and fit right in at either place.
