Not a whole lot to say about myself. I live rather simply, and can find happiness in a good burger, warm weather, cold beer, and a karaoke microphone. The only sport that I really enjoy is football, and in the off-season I tend to find my playstation and the History channel more often. I am happily involved with a beautiful human being in Shawna and feel that I must be the luckiest man around to have such a kind, beautiful, and truly altruistic woman in my life.
My simplicity, however, ends when it comes to politics. I am a fiscally conservative, socially liberal former Republican who finds a fleeting alignment with the Libertarian party for now. I think this country made a huge blunder when it failed to send Ron Paul to the November election, but then again I said the same thing about Ross Perot. I suspect and hope that after a term of a Democrat president with a Democrat congress, the nation will see that our economy and our national debt are no better off since entitlement programs replaced the $12 billion a month we were spending in Iraq. It will be too soon then to forget the blunders of the Bush presidency and the Republican party will head the way of the Whigs, then we can, at long last and hopefully with the support of the mainstream media, take a third party candidate seriously in the run for president. Be it Libertarian, Constitution, or Green Party, I am hopeful and excited in the prospect of a disruption of the status quo in my lifetime. Viva la revolucion.
