HotFreeLayoutsDerek Joyner always had a love for music. From listening to child play tunes, with the likes of the Mickey Mouse Club house to the classic soul of old school R&B and Jazz. He joined and did many talent showcases in schools while growing up in New York City. Derek had the opportunity to do a few performances at the legendary Sweetwaters, in New York. He also wrote lyrics. Collaborated, composed and performed songs, on the set. Derek could take the whole political side of the music industry and layed low for a few years, truly was about to give it all up. However the spirit and the heart and love for song writing and singing aroused a new love for music all over again. In 2003, he began to write and compose and perform again. Derek has sung background for a few events performed for different venues like the Cutting Room, Kenny's Castaway, Also personally performed with a live band at different venues. Currently he working on some tunes he feels he must do some more writing and study some tunes that are close to his heart while growing up. He loves to express his feelings and reflect on the world today.
