Broke DJs are a London and Bournemouth based duo who like making massive farm yard squelchers and potato mashing them in clubs across the UK.
Logan and Jim joined forces in 2006, when they combined their dj and production knowledge into one awesome force. They created a monster with homemade bootlegs for legs and technical mixing for arms and upper torso. The monster wields an unrivalled energy in clubs which is guaranteed to blow the roof off and tear the house down. Expect an onslaught of high energy beats and teeth rattling basslines.
Broke DJs hold residencies at the biggest nights the south coast has to offer including Mixmag's top ten club night We Are Your Friends as well as Beat Redemption and their own monthly club night Basslime , which has played host to Stenchman, Flux Pavilion and Phaeleh amongst others.
December 2009 sees the 12†release of Broke DJs 3 track EP ‘Jaan’ on Awkward Movements and their signing to major label, Stanton Warriors’ ‘Punks’ with their remix of ‘Stanton Warriors - Still Here’.
Broke DJs love freebies and also give out free tracks on a monthly basis, including remixes of Foamo, Jay-Z, Nero, Lady Sovereign & a remix of Basement Jaxx - Oh My Gosh which reached no.20 in the Hype Machine chart, overtaking tracks by 16 Bit, Royksopp and Thom Yorke.
March 2010 brings about Broke DJ’s first U.S Tour, kicking off with the WMC conference and beyond. This follows on from their recent addition to the US Household Management line-up, placing them alongside the likes of B.Rich, Virus Syndicate, Vent, Napt and Drumattic Twins.
Broke DJs show no signs of slowing, with an evolving style and passion for the scene they populate, they are a heavyweight addition to any line-up and their tracks will leave you wanting more and more until the lights go up and your turfed out into the street!
