About Me

Photoart

I'm a visual person. One single picture can make me think up an entire story. My upbringing amongst a free-spirited theatre family has shaped my imagination and left me with a strong sense for theatrical vision.

These influences don't only show in my feeling-at-home in the stage world, but also in my work as a photographer. The more I occupy with the artistic challenges offered by photography the more I go into storytelling and staged compositions.

Movies are my main source of inspiration. Like in my own approach towards photography, I'm fascinated with those films which don't completely reveal their secret and offer a fair amount of strangeness. I can't get any kicks out of a one-all reflection of reality. What I'm looking for in the arts is the crossing of lines, a certain excessiveness and mysterious quality.

Stage Photography

I also enjoy working as a stage photographer and in the music biz. It's a big challenge to "freeze" the right moment and capture the atmosphere of a live-performance. Berlin's just the right place for never getting short of motives. I am the principal photographer of the Berlin based Burlesque group "The Teaserettes". Among my other "achievements" in stage photography are Cora Frost, The Teaserettes, Jörg Buttgereit's "Captain Berlin versus Hitler" at HAU1, as well as Buttgereit's "Rough Cuts/ Part 1: Monster" at HAU2, Berlin; Thomas Hermann's Trashical "Es fährt ein Zug nach Nirgendwo" at Admiralspalast ,Berlin; as well as various plays that were staged at the "Engelbrot" (former Hansa-Theater), Berlin.

Artist ManagementDue to my long lasting experiences in public relations and in organising stage and arts events, I have started to work as a manager for selected artists: above all for the highly ambitious Berlin based Russian singer, songwriter and paintress Maria Marachowska aka Maria Katharsis who has made herself a name with her "Siberian Blues".See more:

For booking & requests please contact Miss Miniatüra: [email protected] Maria Katharsis' very first public performance took place at the legendary Berlin "Kaffee Burger" on 11th January 2007.
As in her first exhibition as a painter, in which she had only five, however exceptional paintings on display, she only played five of her songs on this occasion.

Since then she has been developing and refining her personal music style and artistic skills rapidly. It is no coincidence that she has coined the phrase "GLAM LADY DANDY VAMP" which defines the special combination of many-sided artist and timelessly elegant appearance she represents.
