About Me

'And Tempting Rosie did come down from the heavens and said "let there be ska!" and the sound of trumpets echoed through the valley'.
Tempting Rosie is a sextet of young men of which five decided one day during a music lesson, to form a band with a combination of different sounds that arn't what you would exactly expect from ska. And now with two newer, but now older and very well established members now included in the band, the make up this very energetic 7-piece is now complete and at its best!
Tempting Rosie are known for getting the crowd dancing and being crazy on the stage although fitting all the whole band on most stages with all the required equipment can be a great achievment in itself!
By blending our own catchy style of ska with types of music such as funk and indie, to create a very catchy, fun-loving style of music.
We hope that you can appreciate the music that we play and perform for your entertainment, because when you have 7 bored school boys, could you really expect any more!?
This year we have decided to enter the "SURFACE UNSIGNED FESTIVAL"
We had our first round showcase on Sunday 27th April and got through to the second round with the most votes of the night!
The second round showcase is at Med Bar, Custard Factory on Sunday 8th June, so ask anyone of the band for tickets - £7 a piece!
Here is the review of the night in the words of Stephen Hudyba;
"Next up were Birmingham based seven-piece Tempting Rosie. Their sound is a mixture of Pop, Ska, Rock n Roll and Indie, making for an infectious, upbeat sound that went down well with the Sunday evening crowd. A powerful and effectively used brass section gives their noise a real injection of energy and creates a distinctive, not to mention at times appropriately moody atmosphere (like how good ol’ British-Ska used to be – and is so often forgotten these days), cleverly subverted by Matthew’s strong Pop vocal and some deeply catchy guitar work."
