NEW SHOWS! NEW SONGS! NEW GUNS!

About Me

.. SOME REVIEWS OF OUR FIRST EP ON EUGENE RECORDS"This is how rock is supposed to sound. Very well written, played and produced hard rock "n" roll from Kentucky. I'm reminded of NASHVILLE PUSSY in their delivery and the songs are so well-structured that I can't help thinking of personal faves THE LEE HARVEY OSWALD BAND. Very Good. (AD)" -MAXIMUMROCKNROLL August 2005 issue "

...I had no idea I was gonna be rocked this hard tonight, but you should see me, I'm covered in sweat and bruises, and fuckin' love it. The Yellow Belts are like Mad Monkey Kung Fu masters of scorching belt-buckle rock, and this here EP will send you home limping." -sleazegrinder.com ".
..This six song EP is absolutely bursting with incredible rock energy...These fellows play with tight conviction. Their music is focused and very intense. Rarely do we hear an initial release from a band that sounds this good..." -babysue.com
"Top notch balls out testosterone-driven hardrock/punk'n'roll thats packed with fat hooks and attitude... All six tracks rip, especially "Countdown Sound", "Crash Landers" and "Time Killers". Lawrence Tarpey's menacing voice snarls like a motherfucker in the wall of amped-up evil guitars, THIS SHIT ROCKS! Awesome debut, looking forward to a full length album." -Lowcut Magazine
"The first thing that pops in my head is old dirty leather, hot rods, and flaming skulls. Back in the 90's, there was an upswing of dirty garage rock bands on the East Coast. This is what this band sounds like: early White Zombie but with a Duane Peters and Die Hunns drunk punk sound mixed in. Hives fans would also find an appreciation for this if they wanted a more balls-to-the-walls rock sound. Good stuff." -Razorcake
"This is punk with more attitude than you can shake a can of hairspray at. ...Tight musically, but loose enough to be an absolute blast, and Lawrence Tarpey knows just the right amount of screaming to apply to put every song over the top. And the lyrics? Forget it. I haven't heard anything this fun in a long time. Take a look (from "Crash Landers"): "Planet of the Apes read the letters on the sign, it was Southland 68 in 1969...Well the tires spit the gravel while I was hiding in the trunk, and the speakers on the post said it's good to be a punk. Put it on your head and wear it like a hat, and get yourself a dog and walk it like a cat!" I don't care where you're from, those are F'ing great lyrics. Go listen to this and try not to get instantly hooked. Like a fat kid on cake, if you know what I'm sayin'. This is brilliant!" -IMPACT press (Top Picks Fall 2005)
"The self-titled EP from The Yellow Belts is definitely an old-school punk-rock flashback. Hard-rock energy, heavy guitar riffs, and raspy, pissed-off lyrics deem this album a necessity for those few old-schoolers left. This quintet from Lexington, KY, know what rock is and how to rock well. The last time I heard music like this I was spinning The Sex Pistols, The Dead Kennedys, and the like." -Scratch Magazine (August 2005 CD Reviews)
"This 5-piece may well be from Lexington, KY but they could easily be from Cleveland as they rock with the same disregard for convention or the fickle finger of fashion as that city's finest exports - THE DEAD BOYS and THE PAGANS. Add on the modern, 90s thrust of GAUNT and TURBONEGRO and you..ll have an idea of the corrosive Punk snot of YELLOW BELTS. In fact, the track ..Time Killers.. could be the best track that the mighty ..NEGRO never recorded; and that..s not even the best track on here .. check out ..Lift.. for one of the most bile-drenched slabs of Punkage you..ll hear all year..." -scannerzine.com

Review from Sleazegrinder!!

90% of the time, I believe that you can, in fact, judge a book by its cover. Most people that look like total dicks, for example, are, in fact, total dicks. But once in awhile, you gotta look past th...
