About Me

Facebook me!VISIT ME ON AIM - SCREENNAME: IAMBROADWAYBOUND! I am a graduate of AMDA (the American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in New York City. Once I hit the Big Apple, I knew I could never leave. I am from Wisconsin, but please, oh, please...don't make rude comments about cheeseheads. Cheeseheads are awesome, and I am proud to be one. And while I've never worn an actual foam block of cheese on my head, never say never! I have trained for a career on The Great White Way, so look for my name in lights someday! After graduating from AMDA, I went on tour with National Theater for Arts and Education, in a show called "A Maiden's Consent." We traveled these great United States (well, okay...the Eastern half of them) and brought sexy back bilingual-style. I met one of my best friends on that tour and then was hired with her to be a member of a core company of actors at Thunder Bay Theatre...a professional theatre in Northern Michigan, where I was a member of their resident company for the Spring and Summer seasons. I played Pam in the musical "Baby," Meg in the musical "Little Women," Guenevere in the musical "Camelot," and Elizabeth in the play "Catch Me if You Can." I returned to NYC, which I missed very much, and continued auditioning. It paid off - this summer I am going to be living and working in Beach Haven, NJ (Long Beach Island) for Surflight Theatre at their Show Place!

My Interests

I'm a pretty laid-back person and I'm usually up for anything, but I also love taking the time to do absolutely nothing. I can't make it through the day without singing, my parents and brother are my three favorite people in the world, and I usually read a book in one sitting. I love the Green Bay Packers, I get sucked into myspace/facebook/youtube for hours at a time, and I can think of a musical theatre song to go with almost any situation. I am hopelessly bad at returning phone calls, I am mocked for my taste in tv and movies, and I truly believe I am 27 going on 12.

I'd like to meet:

Meg Cabot, Jenna Fischer, Christian Borle, Greg Grunberg, Kristin Chenoweth, and Emma Thompson. I also want to hang out with Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas...they are so sweet and adorable.

Music:

This clip is of me as Pam Sakarian in the musical "Baby" at Thunder Bay Theatre March 2007. The song is called "Patterns." Check out some of my other videos under the videos link or on youtube! This next clip is of of me playing Guenevere in the musical "Camelot" at Thunder Bay Theatre June and July 2007. The song is called "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood." And, finally...this clip is one of my favorite scenes/songs I've ever done. It's called "With You," and it's from the musical "Baby." I am a musical theatre junkie. I love it all...the good, the bad...the cheezy. I am one of those MT kids who mostly listen to musicals...standards on my playlist are Baby, Little Women, I Love You Because, Altar Boyz, The Wedding Singer, and The Light in the Piazza, among others. When I take a break from the theatre world to listen to "normal" music, I love Michelle Branch, Anna Nalick, Huey Lewis and the News, Gavin DeGraw, John Mayer and, of course...the great James Taylor. This clip is from the latest musical on my playlist and my new favorite..."Legally Blonde" starring Laura Bell Bundy, Orfeh, and Christian Borle. It's a behind-the-scenes feature that shows a lot of clips from the show, as well as fun stuff with the amazing cast. Check it out, and you'll soon see why I love this show so much...its talented cast...and Broadway in general. :)

Movies:

I love That Thing You Do, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice (both versions), Wimbledon, The Italian Job, Saved, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Mean Girls, Waiting for Guffmann(pretty much everything by Christopher Guest), She's the Man, Bring it On (1 and 3 are both faves...2 was AWFUL), Anchorman, Dodgeball, Mona Lisa Smile, Love Actually, and many, many more. This clip is from one of the greatest animated movies of all time - The Chipmunk Adventure. Some things just don't go out of style...ever!

Television:

I am an avid tv watcher...to the point of obsession. Right now, my favorite things on tv are The Office (I love Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley), Bones, How I Met Your Mother, and Grey's Anatomy. Sadly, the shows I get REALLY into keep getting cancelled. Arrested Development, Alias, Friends, and of course...Veronica Mars (RIP Veronica...I hope you're happy in the FBI). Which Veronica Mars Character are you?
You are Mac. You are quirky and a bit shy. You tend to keep to yourself, but when a friend is in need you always manage to pull through. You are smart and people respect that.

I love Friends, That 70's Show, American Dreams, Roswell, and, like I said before...two of my three all-time faves (with The Office, which is still on)...Alias and Veronica Mars. When I have cable, I also love to watch the crazy Canadian shows on The N network...Degrassi and Instant Star, and I love the Disney Channel...Phil of the Future and Hannah Montana make me smile...don't hate. *Watch this clip from Robot Chicken on Adult Swim...it's hilarious!

Books:

Everything Meg Cabot has ever written...from the Princess Diaries and Teen Idol to her adult fiction. I also love Sarah Dessen (The Truth About Forever, Just Listen), Kate Brian (Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys, The Princess and the Pauper), Niki Burnham (Spin Control), Ally Carter (the Gallagher Girls series), and Anne Brashares (the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants series). I also love the book How I Paid for College: a Novel of Sex, Theft, Friendship and Musical Theater, by Marc Acito. Of course, I'm also a fan of J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter. And last but not least...Jane Austen, who can do no wrong.
Congratulations, you are a Gryffindor! Gordric Gryffindor founded your house for those who are brave and heroic. Odds are, you have a strong sense of purpose and morality, and you're willing to go to great lengths to make sure that your morals are upheld. Some say you're foolish, but you consider yourself brave- and even heroic. You're proud to be part of a house where honor and nobility are of utmost importance. You believe in the power of friendship, and you would be willing to die for your true friends. You also think your big-hearted loyalty will always defeat the sneaky Slytheins, your rival house. On the negative side, you are often too brash, and you act without thinking completely through a situation. Remember that sometimes it is better to throw caution to the wind. You also may have a tendency to self-righteousness, beliving that you are intrinsically more "good-hearted" than others, especially rival houses. Sometimes you need to get out of the spotlight, stop getting into trouble, and let the other houses have their day in the sun. Your head of house is Minerva McGonagall, the transfiguration teacher, and a quissential Gryffindor is Harry Potter.
