African Classical Music Ensemble

The African Classical Music Ensemble was set up by the composer, producer and Kora player, Tunde Jegede. He is the pioneer of African Classical Music and is a prolific artist working in the music worlds of African, Classical, Jazz and Pop. The ensemble features, the Gambian Kora Maestro, Wali Cham, the young guitar and Kora virtuoso, Maya Jobarteh and the legendary Malian vocalist, Kasse Mady Diabate.The African Classical Music Ensemble have their forthcoming debut album, 'There was a Time' coming out in 2009. It was recorded in Bamako, Mali and is released on the Xiom Music independent record label. Their music is also featured in several films including 'Hopes on the Horizon', a documentary-film for PBS television in the States and a new film on Mali by the American film-maker, Ron Wyman.
