I am here for Friends

About Me

strong willed. mouth at times quicker than brain, can be good or bad. junk food junkie, but trying hard to break into this "healthy eating" thing. well, ok, not really that hard. not much of a girly girl. I wrote all that several months ago, here's an update. Still working on the mouth thing, moderately successful. Failing miserably at the healthy eating thing. Tastefully Simple is not helping with this--I feel that I must try every dip and cheeseball that they put out there, in the name of research and providing more quality service to my clients. I did that facial recognition thing and it said that I looked like John Cusack, but I didn't put it on my page then and now I can't get it to tell me that again. I love my family--right now it's just me and Joe and our 5 cats and 1 dog here. We are close to our parents and siblings too, and my extended family is the BEST EVER. I work very hard at my job, it can be pretty physically demanding. As a result, I'm pretty lazy at home--I like to spend my days off on the bed watching TiVo'd shows from the week before with cats and junk food lying all around. Pepsi is better than Coke in the can, but Coke rules the bottle and the fountain. I used to love Mountain Dew the most but during my health kick I stopped drinking sodas for a while and now it's too sweet or something for me to drink a lot. But I'm trying hard to get back to it. Maple syrup is an abomination. I bring my own (cane) syrup to Cracker Barrel when I'm having pancakes. French fries are the best food ever invented. McDonald's has the best you can buy but homemade with Tony Chachere's creole seasoning on top is #1. There used to be a place in Moultrie called Carol's Fried Chicken, they made really good greasy fries and put them in these HUGE bags, they were good too. I used to beg to go there after school and get a big bag of their fries. It's still open, but it's called Dalton's now and they moved to another location, and they don't have the same fries. I'm not against change in general, but I felt like a part of my childhood was lost when they did this. I love tattoos, piercings and other body art.

Create your own Friend Quiz here

I'd like to meet:

nice people. smart people. fun people. the gunslinger. s. king. ok, maybe not, what could i even say that he has not heard 1000x before?? some world's strongest man competitors. janelle from big brother. that girl kicks ass. adam cartwright. yeah, i know it's a toupee, but he's so darn sexy. vinnie jones. so scary, yet strangely hot.

Music:

I have a wide range. Right now I'm obsessed with Blue October. Another new one for me is Brandi Carlile, she is great. I miss the Refreshments. Some others: NIN, Marilyn Manson, Ministry, old REM, Face to Face, Led Zeppelin, Pete Yorn, Neil Young, John Prine, Prodigy, 80's pop, ABBA, Sara Evans, Raffi. Hey, I warned you that it was a wide range. Mayhaps it's easier to tell some dislikes: I abhor Rush. Evanescence is worthless garbage. Also Placebo, just b/c the poor guy's voice reminds me of Rush guy. Rascal Flatts are just absolute crap, what is the deal with their popularity???

Movies:

the princess bride, snatch, kill bill 1 and 2, pulp fiction, the big lebowski, cemetery man, the count of monte cristo, memento, lock stock and two smoking barrels, the usual suspects, the wizard of oz, willy wonka and the chocolate factory (old one w/gene wilder, new one is ok but nowhere close), the transporter and transporter 2, gone in 60 seconds, fight club, the nightmare before christmas, saw (all 4), nightmare on elm street and halloween series, bad dreams, sin city, recently saw 300 in IMAX, it kicked major ass. office space is probably the funniest movie ever made.

Television:

I am totally in love with Lost. We don't have ABC as a local channel, and I just watched the 1st 3 seasons online. I then had to buy an ABC channel for a separate extra charge on the satellite especially for watching season 4. Love it Love it Love it. I loved Gilmore Girls. South Park is always amusing. Aqua Teen Hunger Force (though newer episodes are not as good, I think), CSI, How I Met Your Mother, Jericho, House, the Unit, Monk, Hannah Montana is just the cutest little thing! Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, and Desperate Housewives all good. I love watching the World's Strongest Man Competitions. One day I will see one live, I promise.

Books:

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King and the Talisman by King and Peter Straub are my absolute favorites. The Thief of Always and most of Clive Barker's others are fantastic, Youth in Revolt by C.D. Payne is another for my personal top 10, everyone should read it. Wicked by Gregory Maguire(I just have to throw in here that I saw the musical and it was one of the biggest wastes of money ever, the book is infinity times better), Harry Potter (most of these movies are acceptable), a Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (books only, don't even get me started on how bad THIS movie was! I see this movie in lots of people's favorite movie sections and I just feel bad for them. They really need to read the books b/c they just don't understand how horrible the adaptation was and what they are missing)

Heroes:

OMG!!! I just met the founder and CEO of Tastefully Simple and I was just awestruck. She is such an inspiration. No one else except for my other TS team members understands this but that's ok. I was so excited that I teared up a little and I was so nervous to talk to her. So awesome!!!

A Long Sad Rant . . . Open at your own risk
