.. MYSPACELAYOUTSPY CODE END --> Michael A. Blue was born in North Carolina and was reared from infancy in Sellers, South Carolina. He attended the schools of Marion District #1, Marion, South Carolina. Upon his graduation in 1981, he enrolled in the Francis Marion University. There he received his B. A. in English (1985), and in 1986 he became an English instructor at the Marion High School, a position he has held for twenty years. Pastor Blue’s spiritual heritage is multi-faceted: he attended the Highway Church of Christ, Latta, SC, in his earliest years. Later, he attended the New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Sellers, SC, where he served the church in many capacities. In 1977, he joined the Palmetto Deliverance Tabernacle (Born Again Church of Jesus Christ), under the leadership of the late Bishop John W. Barber. Here as well, he served the local church as musician, Sunday school teacher, and youth president. Pastor Blue preached his first official sermon in July of 1980 and was ordained an elder in August of 1987. He served the Born Again Church in various state and national functions. In 1988, Elder Blue began a Black History Month choir at Marion High School that ultimately was adopted by the district and developed into an elective course renamed the Marion High School Gospel Chorus, which he presently teaches. Bishop Blue was named MHS Teacher of the Year 2002-2003 and Marion District One Teacher of The Year 2003-2004. By means of Pastor Blue working in the school system and in the ministry, numerous young people have been motivated to seek higher education, a better quality of life, and faith in Jesus Christ. In 1990, Elder Blue also founded the Chosen Generation Community Youth Choir creating an outlet for youth to participate in a holistic artistic expression and allowing God to so mark them so that many of them are leaders in the Kingdom even to this day. The year of 1991 was a year of destiny for then Elder Blue. He received special inspiration from Revelation 3:8, “Behold, I have set before thee an open door…” This precipitated the ministry that ultimately led to establishment of the church, which he now serves as pastor. On June 8 of that same year, he was joined in holy matrimony to the former Malinda J. Tarte of Camden, NJ. To this union two children -- Michala and Michael II (a.k.a. “B.J.”) -- have been added. And finally in August of that year, he began to teach a Bible study in the home of a co-worker’s relative. This Bible study was destined to evolve into a local church, The Door of Hope Christian Church. In February of 1992, Elder and Sister Blue became the founding pastors of DHCC. The church has experienced God’s favor in quality and quantity, ministering to its community in music and in educational supplementation. Its Ministry and Worship Center, dedicated in 2001, has become a beacon of faith for many, members and non-members. Elder Blue was consecrated to the bishopric in December of 1997, and served as an assistant diocesan and a diocesan (1998-2000) of the NE Diocese of the Born Again Church. Bishop Blue presently serves as the Presiding Prelate of the Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries, established in December of 2000.Bishop Blue has a heart for the local church and for leaders in the Kingdom --- he has a special passion for developing secondary leadership, those who fill the middle tier, between their senior leaders and their congregations. He is the host of a number of annual conference events among which are the following: national events- The Annual CCFM Conference (May / June), and the Annual “Structured for Increase” Leadership Conference (October).
