I am first and foremost a student of physics. Despite all the bitching and moaning to which I subject those in my vicinity, I really do love having an understanding of just what makes this universe tick. I like it because of the beauty that such knowledge infuses everything with. If I try, I can look at my glass of whisky and marvel at it's surface tension, partial pressure, viscosity, pharmacology, compressibility, solubility in water, color, refractive index, combustibility (and hence molecular structure), etc. I can try this with everything around me until it all seems so blindingly complex that I'm overwhelmed with a sense of awe. That's when most people think I'm the biggest dork. Oh well.I also like building things. When I get around to it, I'm goint to take some photos of what I've made. Some things to look for: currently my proudest invention is my kegerator, but close seconds are my refurbished sword and the modifications to my bike trailer.I like finding things in the trash. I'm amazed by what people throw away. Digging through trash satisfies some primal hunter/gatherer (more the gatherer) drive to sift through rubble and feel the tingle of excitement upon recognition of something valuable. Don't worry, I wash my hands at least twice a week.
