W.A.R was founded in Sofia-Bulgaria, in the summer of 1985 as a two men project - W.A.RLORD (guitars) and WIDOWMAKER (bass&vocals) - originaly named HELL ASS. Shortly after that CHRIS THE BEAST joined the band as a drummer. Thus the line up was formed into trio. During 1985-1986 the band recorded few demos : HELL ASS, MASTER VILLA, TOSHKO E KUBE [Toshko(Jivkov) has no hair], READY TO STRIKE (ep). Next year 1987 was crucial for the band. W.A.RLORD joined the army,wich was obligatory at the time, followed in 1988 by CHRIS THE BEAST and WIDOWMAKER. This was the sadest time of our lifes - the band was scattered for whole 3 years. After the army (1989-1990), waiting for CHRIS and WIDOWMAKER to serve their time, W.A.RLORD was playing with session bassist ZURBRIGEN SIE GROSSEN VON SCHTRANG. The band name was changed to: HARSH HATRED. During this time were also recorded few demos: All Is Over, Forever Under The Earth, Goblin's Song, Hellbound Rider, World Beyond The Sun. Finaly in 1990 the army nightmare ended and the band was once again on the battle field. This was the time when the name W.A.R was taken. 1990-1991 was kind of successful period for the band - 3 mini demo albums have been recorded: WORLD BEYOND THE SUN , WAR IN THE GULF and the angry - TERROR IST MEIN GESCHAFT,followed by ENDLESS DARK (World Beyond The Sun- partII) and (ep) POWER OF STEEL in 1992... 1993 – During recording session of the album W.A.R I (The Falling Of Troy), one thing was certain - the band would not be able to finish all planned recordings due to financial problems. Only few raw demos were recorded: HECTOR'S FAREWELL, BESIDE THE WALLS, HECTOR'S END and THE FALLING OF TROY. Devastated band left the studio. Thereafter for the next four years the band members gathered only occasionally but managed to record some demos: ANOTHER WINTER'S DAY, WORLD WAR III, ARMY OF DARKNESS, W.A.R II, NUCLEAR WINTER BALLET - 1994-1995, mostly for fun and contribution to the METAL Music. MILITARY, INTO THE ARENA, KILLER, STEEL RIDER - 1996 , ARMAGEDDON, TERROR & HATE , THERMONUCLEAR WARFARE, NECROMANTHA - 1997. In 1998 the band started preparation for the long lenght conceptional album called APOCALYPSE, but the work was delayed… once again due to financial problems. In 2000 the band laid to rest for a long time. Band members scattared around the world. W.A.RLORD took off to seek happyness in The United States, CHRIS went to Italy, but came back in Bulgaria verry soon highly unsatisfied. Finally in 2006 W.A.RLORD and CHRIS managed to build their own recording studios and the idea of reunion arised. Currently the band is working on the new album called FOREVER WAR and is in long lasting negotiations with their original singer WIDOWMAKER to take duties over the vocal parts. FOREVER WAR is scheduled to be out in late 2007- early 2008. STAY TUNED !...
