Live music, cooking, hiking, fungus, beaches, beer, writing, guitars, wildflowers, banjos, clackin' spoons, sea kayaks, flyfishing, basket weaving, smelling things, reading, skiing, storytelling, and travelling. That's all.
Richard Bach- we'd fly around in his bi-plane and then sit in a field and I'd pick his brain.I would like to meet Ghengis Khan (onna good day). We'd eat a lot of great stew, I bet.Socrates- although he doesn't seem like he was ever able to just answer a question without flinging a question back, we'd spend hours getting nowhere.Glenn Crowe- the guy who taught my dad how to fish.Bigfoot...-I'm thinkin' good stew...again.Neil Young- I'd like to walk around his ranch discussing Johnathan Livingston Seagull, clutching a hot, drippy, greasy hank of Mongolian lamb, questioning and answering with new questions, and then tie a few flies and go fishing with a family of Yetis and eat trout stew with them around a cracklin' campfire. Or at least high five him.Alexander Calder-He invented the mobile amnongst other things. HE seemed like a goofball of ginormous proportions!Homer Simpson- I think there is a little Homer in all of us. And he likes beer...mmmm...beer.Oh, and a tall, long haired, delicate-like-a-leather-iris goddess who can't control her laughter (nor does she try) with long, strong arms and graceful fingers and knobby knuckles that look like they could cradle hot coals. She can hold her own in a loogie spitting contest and enjooys PBR and shows me new perspectives on old "ruts." She's so cool.
I'd say I'm going through a Neil Young phase. I also enjoy Widespread Panic, Dylan, Bluegrass of all kinds, Gangly Moose, CSN, Joni Mitchell, Ani Difranco, Gillian Welch, Tool, Husker DU, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Grateful Dead, Keller Williams, Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges, Dead Kennedys, The Cars, Zappa, Iggy Pop,Willie Nelson, Sly and the Family Stone, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Pretenders, Generation X, bagpipes, barbershop, Van Halen, Greg Brown, Fugazi, The Vandals, Oscar Peterson, Benny Goodman, AC/DC, Sabbath; basically every band with a soul driving it. I love most all types of music, although I can't seem to get my head around opera. It's gonna take some time.
Star Wars ("Let the Wookie win.") CQ ("I love you.") Big Lebowski ("Hello Dude, I'm Jackie Treehorn.") James Bond [Sean Connery] Princess Bride ("R.O.U.S's? I don't think they exist.") The Life Aquatic ("Do interns get glocks?") Most Documentaries ("I made it from scratch!") Jeremiah Johnson ("Can you skin grizz?") City of Lost Children("...oui?") Almost Famous ("I'm a golden god!")I'm sure there are plenty more..... width="425" height="350" ..
The Simpsons is the absolute only reason to turn on a television. Dumped my tv on some friends 5 years ago and haven't missed it, although when I'm at the laundromat, I get pretty sucked in. It's a terrible drug...
Midnight's Children- Rushdie, Breakfast of Champions, Cat's Cradle, Welcome to the Monkey House-Vonnegut, Jitterbug Perfume, Skinny Legs and All, Another Roadside Attraction-Tom Robbins, The Brothers K and The River Why-David James Duncan, Johnathan Livingston Seagull and Illusions- Richard Bach, Angle of Repose- Wallace Stegner, A Good Day to Die, The Woman Lit by Fireflies-Jim Harrison, Platte River- Rick Bass, Encounters with the Archdruid- John Mcphee and many others I'm not thinking of
Han Solo, Rosa Parks, My old cat-Foggy, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Frances Virginia Pearsons, Zylusloosebottoms and this here GM'd racing chicken.
