About Me

Born in a family where music is life, I started playing guitar at the age of 11. Songwriting has always been my therapy; I feel that once I can put something down in writing and shout it out melodically, I have conquered it. I write about desire, dreams and the weakness of will, because, well, when I have everything I desire, fulfilled dreams, and the will to do what I will, I don't write (I also hold the world record for most commas in a sentence.) Everything I hear makes me want to write, so I end up with songs drenched in reggae, polka, folk and God knows what else. Who knows what I'll hear next; maybe salsa, maybe surf, maybe psychadelic-electro-barbershop... all I know is that I don't control it. It just comes out.

I Am

Alone in the mountains this winter, I found myself reading Thich Naht Hanh's Being Peace.  In it, the Zen teacher and master speaks on anger... he says how many of us try to disassociate o...

This one came out like diarrhea... it didn't make much sense until I was done, then... hoo boy, it about explains a lot.   The forbidden fruit, we'll recall, was the beginning of sin...

Like It Or Not

For the love of God, people, this song has a name.  And it's not the Take It From Behind song.  Yes, yes, I know you hear it loud and clear, I know you remember it, and I know that people sh...

California

The day I moved to California I started having these horrible pains in my chest; some days it was so bad I just couldn't get up.  Nothing wrong with your heart, said Mr. Cardiologist....

Green Light

This recording was made at a benefit show at the Criterion in Bar Harbor.  I think it captures fairly well the politics behind trying to maintain a friendship between people who shared som...
