By the time he reached the age of five, he had already begun playing various instruments such as the guitar, piano, drums, and started writing his own lyrics by the age of thirteen. He took his trememendous talent and ability to the street corners of Brooklyn, New York, where he engaged in numerous battles against other MC's often twice his age, where he held his ground and became known as the MC to be feared. (Everyone said that boy was gonna be big) He became interested in all types of music, ranging from Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop and Alternative. All those realms can be heard today in his musical approach.In 1993 Flex resided in the Bay Area of California. He was part of a group called Mixed Practice, which had proven to be a small stepping stone into the music industry. Through his work with Mixed Practice, he gained considerable knowledge about what it takes to make it in the music business. As a result, three years later in 1996, he formed a group called the First Family, which eventually branched off and became a group called Soulja Konglomerate where he released his solo album entitled Legitimate Beef. Legitimate Beef sold over 21,000 units nationwide independently, at which point he realized that if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.Since 1997, he has collaberated and blessed numerous artists with his relentless approach working with groups such as N-Cin Mob, Diskfunctional Family, OBF, Legion of Havok, Kiesha Coles, The Delinquents, etc. He released three albums after 1997 and tons of mixed tapes that had the streets beggin for more.Flex is presently collaborating with many different artists and working on his solo album to be released at the beginning of 2006. His extensive connections in the industry with artists such as The Fugees, Busta Rhymes, Spliff Star, Foxy Brown, Brandy, Kiesha Coles, The Outlaws, and San Quinn demonstrate Flex's limitless capabilities. Now under the management of Double O Entertainment Firm, headed by none other than Sinatra himself, one of the most talked about, and up and coming management companies in the music industry, it's no wonder why they call him "Flex, History in the Making".
