In West Hialeah, FL resides a young chico by the name of Big Maze who is trying to make it in the music industry as an MC or an Engineer. A dedicated artist who works day and night in the studio & always remains focused no matter what. Poor since a child but with the help of his family he fought through all the struggles even the ones he faces today
The Name?
'Maze' was given to me around the 7th grade when I was ina graffiti group by a member named yogi, which at the time was a close friend of mine.
As for the 'Big' that came in 06, one night at the studio recording a song called “Getaway†wit my dawg Cruzafix (R.I.P). And at the end of the track
he shouted out Big Maze, and I was like dawg my name is Maze Not Big Maze, he said Maze Sounded too plain also fact is that when I rapped I sounded cocky & lyrical wit very good metaphors. So thats how I got my name basically my boys gave it to me.
How It All Started?
in 10th grade my best friend Joey & I were listening to the song knuck if buck & we thought that beat was so raw that we wanted to write a verse on that. But since we didnt know the structure of music, we went to a website called ohhla.com
and clicked under the link rhymerator, and there it taught us how to write rhymes and come up with metaphors. As far as the flow we would have to come up wit that on our own.
How Long Since You’ve Been Rapping?
I’ve been rappin for about 5 or 6 years to be honest I haven’t kept count
Any Labels?
I was in a label in 06-08 called Slickmouth. Not wit them anymore but theres alot of dudes I respect & got love for who are still in there.
Nowadays?
Makin tracks wit my dawg LmG our group called 2 of a kind. Im Also tryin to finish up my demo to pass around to the local peeps also clubs & especially labels. Most of my time is in my home studio thats where I do most of my work Its free & also a less stress environment. I dont got people tellin me how to do my music. I remember recording on crappy mics like Logitech & Recording on Acid Pro. But I've Moved Up to A Blue Bird & Pro Tools so thats helped me out alot. Im Looking to get signed so labels get a me.
Plans For The Future?
What I really wanna do is be a producer. I love workin on consoles mixing & mastering music. Hopefully one day I build my own label if I cant get in one.
