I wanted to tell you about a new non profit that is trying to make Congress less corrupt by making it more transparent.The Sunlight Network works towards transparency by giving small grants to groups that are trying to make political information available. They also run the Punch Clock Campaign, getting Members of Congress to post a daily schedule, to keep citizens informed of what they are doing everyday. In addition the Sunlight Network along with the Sunlight Foundation are working toward changing legislative procedures and upgrade government to make the internet a major tool for communication between elected officials and their constituents.I feel it’s important to know where my issues stand with legislators and what affects their decision making other than my vote.
