about BRIXTONBOOGIE
Yes, that's how it could be: World economic crisis, productions cut down,
business failures, continuous credit clamp and again more unemployed.
Even the English premier League clubs, governed by investors, get to feel
the new situation with full force. Many start singing the blues.
And they misunderstand something quite basically. The blues is not only
lament, not only wail and chattering of teeth. The blues is primarily an
attitude.
Blues also means: Analysing the situation precisely. Gathering strength to
find peace of mind. Defending oneself against humiliation. And going
forward merrily and open minded.
That's how music producer Krisz Kreuzer sees it. Since his youth
he loves the blues and played the harmonica in various bands.
Kreuzer has little in common with people who still today wreck any "Ten
Years After" song at neighbourhood jamborees.
In 2005 he founded BRIXTONBOOGIE to implement his idea of a modern urban blues. “I played a couple of old blues vinyls to my studio partner, left overs from my record collection. It was like very old friends suddenly reappearedâ€.
At this very second the idea arose: You keep the deep musical strength of
the blues, cautiously mix it with contemporary sounds and transform it to
something completely new. To a modern, present urban blues. Sounds
simple - but simple as always is extremely difficult.
You just don't screw beats to samples. You remember and preserve the
depth and spirituality of an ancient tradition.
Not being under pressure Kreuzer quietly developed different songs and
looked for comrade-in-arms who like him did not accept any genre limits.
BRIXTONBOOGIE's album “URBAN BLUES†will be released
in August 2009.
The first single „Nobody But You“ will be out on may 29th.
“URBAN BLUES†proves: You feel the blues when you're
down and out . However, the album also proves: The blues helps you to get
up again. “URBAN BLUES†is such a whip. A giver of
strength. A donor of courage.
Blues you can use.
