About Me

Back in the days of November 2003, two like-minded girls were bored. When asked by one's mother to think of a fund-raising idea, the logical thing to do, seeing as the other was in a band at the time, was to organise a gig... following this and an inspiring day with the guys from 'Tree of Knowledge' Moon Shoes was born.
Our aim now is to put on gigs in Inverurie and the surrounding area for local young bands to play, and for you lot to come along to and enjoy.
We are a non-profit organisation, and any money made goes to varying charities or worthwhile causes.
In the past these have included: EMMS, St. Andrews Special Needs School and Mitchell's School of Drama.
Just an additional note to those who have noticed a distinct lack of Moonshoes gigs recently. The main cause of this has been...wait for it... education. Pam started uni doing Pharmacy at RGU in September 2006. Following this in April 2007 Allison left for South Africa to take part in various projects as part of her gap year, not returning until August 2007. Barely taking time for breath, both girls then started uni, one after only a break for Summer, the other for the first time in a new city - Glasgow.
So as you can imagine after so many changes and with Allison now living in Glasgow during term-time it is very difficult to arrange gigs in Inverurie!
However, that said, hopefully relatively normal service should resume in 2008. Or as normal as you can get with Moonshoes anyway! Who knows, maybe we'll be able to get some gig swaps on the go in Glasgow??
Thanks for bearing with us, and as always we shall keep you updated with all our plans on here, or via www.moonshoes.piczo.com.
