Shane Steven Filan is a member of the Irish band Westlife. Westlife are famous for their beautiful, romantic ballads and catchy mid- and uptempo songs. Recently they scored their 13th no.1 in the UK.Shane grew up in Sligo, a small town in Ireland. He was born on July 5, 1979. He's got three brothers and three sisters: Finbarr, Peter Jr, Yvonne, Liam, Denise and Mairead. His parents owned a diner in Sligo and Shane used to work there as a waiter from a very early age. He was a big fan of Michael Jackson and even learned how to moon-walk. He went to a Catholic school and participated in a school production of Grease when he was twelve years old. He loves horses, owns lots of them, and used to compete at horse tournaments.Shane Filan is one of the four (formerly five) original Westlife members, along with other current members Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily. But before Westlife, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily were with Shane in a band known as I.O.U.
