Headlines Never Got Anyone Anywhere

About Me

Grew up in Ohio, lived in Connecticut, now in Arizona.Married my high school sweetheart (Mara) and we have a little girl named Evelynne Mae who joined us Feb. 28, 2008 and is our pride and joy.Just built a house and moved in over the winter; we're finally getting it to where we want it to be and making it our own.I coach high school football (which I love and wish I had a chance to do years ago) but that's not my "real job".Lots of other stuff, but you'll have to ask if you have something specific...

My Interests

Everything sports. I play basketball every chance I get. I grew up playing football, baseball, rugby, volleyball, golf and throwing shot and discus. In college I unfortunately blew my knee out playing intercollegiate football and once I recovered from that I discovered even more fun in the forms of intramural softball and ultimate frisbee. I have been lucky enough to dabble in sports broadcasting as well, covering Division I-AA, II and III NCAA basketball, baseball, softball, football and serving as a public address announcer for Yale University and the University of New Haven. I'd love to make this more than just a "special interest" but I've been lucky so far and fortunate to have such experiences in the first place.

I'd like to meet:

I'd rather just keep going places rather than meeting people. And if I have to meet people when I go places, I guess I could live with that.

Music:

You could record just about anything and if I heard it enough, I would end up looking it up on iTunes. It goes from Souljah Boy to Fall Out Boy and everything in between. Does it get more random?

Movies:

I see a lot of movies. Between the DirecTV movie channel lineup to the constant trips to the theatre and Blockbuster, we see a crapload of movies. I love 'em all. Couldn't name a favorite but I think the top five would include "Memphis Belle", "Friday Night Lights", "Saving Private Ryan", "Troy" and "Ocean's Eleven"....for now anyways.

Television:

I get tired of so many shows so quickly.Good shows: Real World, CSI, Simpsons.Bad Shows: Desperate Housewives, That 70's Show and South Park.

Books:

I had to read my first book ever thanks to my new job. I actually gave up 75 pages into a 132 page book but that's honestly the closest thing to reading a book I've managed in my life. I don't do books. Even magazines are tough.

Heroes:

My old neighbor in CT for building a second level to his privacy fence because he was mad at us for "looking out of our windows".

The OBAMA Channel

I've written before that I'm so jaded by my choices that politics and the presidential candidates are all equally unattractive to me. This isn't a rant on Obama or for Obama or anything else.I just t...

What Could Make Me Blog Again?!?

It seems someone or something has to do something extremely retarded these days for me to blog. And after a trip to Walmart tonight for some milk and to return some DVD's to one of those Red Box rent...

Truth in Politics

I admit I'm a bit jaded by the democratic process. To be totally honest, there hasn't been a candidate I really liked for a major political office in my voting lifetime (9+ years). I find myself set...
