I was born in Hawaii so that makes me a "Boricua-Hawaiiana" and very proud of it. Married to a wonderful man, Retired Naval Master Chief John A. Ortiz, mother of three great children, a proud grandmother of five+ and a adorable great-grand-daughter.
My program "Alma Latina" (Latin Soul)is the longest-running Latin music radio program in the Pacific.
You can now listen to the Alma Latina Radio Show on Sunday's on KWAI-K-108, 1080AM, from 1:00pm-4:00pm with your host "Nancy Ortiz".
I also own and manage "Alma Latina Productions", a Latin
Entertainment Promotion/Event Planning Company.
Alma Latina Productions, has played an important role in
bringing to Hawaii many Salsa/Latin groups from Puerto
Rico, New York, and California with much success.

In addition, I have had the opportunity of working with
other organizers/promoters as well in bringing to Hawaii other great acts; such as: Orquesta de la Luz, Tito Puente, Cubanisimo, Bobby Sanabria, Poncho Sanchez, Celia Cruz, Spanish Harlem Orquestra, Luisito Rosario, Johnny Polanco,Tiempo Libra, Tito Puente, Jr., Frankie Morales.

May,2004 - I was honored to be among the Honorees who
received an award at the 6th Annual West Coast Salsa
Congress in Los Angeles, California an annual event
presented by the Largest Salsa Promoter in the World..

Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico to receive a Recognition
Award.
Alma Latina Production, Hispanic Center of Hawaii also is
honored to co-chair the Annual Salsathon Festival, founded
by Latin Lady DJ Margarita! We say thank you!
2009 "The 9th Annual Puerto Rican Culture & Salsa Festival will be June 18th - 21st, so start making your reservations or be a part of the entertainment lineup.
This event is now sponsored by the Hispanic Center of Hawaii, Alma Latina Productions & Albert Torres Productions.
We've featured great artists from the mainland; along with our local artists. Luisito Rosario,Johnny Polanco,Tito Puente, Jr.,and Frankie Morales have all performed with our very own Son Caribe, Edie (the Salsa Freak), Al "Liquid Silver", Reggaeton artists "Blas Nova" and Salsa Promoter Albert Torres.The Festival is also one of the qualifying sites for the Salsa Championships in Orlando, Florida, held in December.
