It was a January 7th, early in the morning Lavern Cartwright was rushed to the hospital at six months pregnant with God's gift. She checked in the hospital, in pain as the baby kicked. Then her water broke. It was time for her to have the baby at only six months pregnant. Hours went pass. The baby came - it was a boy. She and her husband Mark Cartwright named him William Charles Tanaj Cartwright. The docter said he was fine but somehow Lavern didnt think so and she wanted a next opinion. So she called for a next doctor. He came and checked him only to find out that Lavern was right. Something was wrong with her baby boy. His esophagus was not connected properly. He couldn’t breath. Lavern and her baby boy was instantly rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami where they worked on Tanaj for 3 and a half years and nothing worked. Before the last surgery they said it was all up to GOD and it truly was. So they did the surgery and hours later they found that it worked, and for the first time in his life he was able 2 eat through his mouth. The first thing he ate was a Macdonald’s fry. 10 years later Tanaj was all grown up dealin’ with life as a teenager; being faced with drugs, sex, stealing and drinking. But as Tanaj was growing up he saw a lot of his friends and family go out from gang violence, drugs and from drinking their lives away. So Tanaj never drank or never did drugs but as for the gang...................See Tanaj always had this talent and it was RAPPIN!! From the age of 10, he was on stage rappin' but at the same time he was slipping. He was 14 years of age when his dad got cancer and the only people who understood him was in the streetz. They looked out for him while everyone else wasn’t checkin’ for him. So he was forced to think “the world iz hate; the streets iz love”. That was his motto and he stuck with it. He was really scared, so he covered it up by fighting, crackin’ jokes, behaving rude in school and not listening to his mother. He was getting out of control. One day his mother was rowin’ him and she said something that suddenly made everything make sense. She said in a shouting voice “WILLIAM CHARLES TANAJ CARTWRIGHT ARE U CARZY DO YOU REALLY THINK GOD BROUGHT YOU THIS FAR TO TURN HIS BACK ON YOU??!!”......AND at that very moment he just stood in shock. So he calmed down, prayed 2 God for forgiveness and it was granted. Tanaj started to use his gift again, only more seriously this time. On one of these occasions, he and his partner ‘2short’ were ministering at a Youth Conference and Monty G saw him and saw the potental in him and signed the 2 of them. He flew Tanaj 2 Freeport to record his album. But he started to slip again because of the girls flirtin’ with him after concerts. He would be backsliding right after ministering. It was a serious thing so he fell back on the album for a li'l while to get his life together and he did………eventually ..................... Now William Charles Tanaj Cartwright, also known as NAJIE DUN, is 1 of the most focused christian rappers their is and he thanks God everyday for puttin’ him through what he's been through. .
