I love being with family and friends, getting together on weekends for dinner and games. I enjoy going to fairs and the stock show. Sharing conversation with interesting people, including acquaintances in my travels.
When I was a kid I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts, took piano lessons, and listened to light-rock music. Always had perfect attendance in school. Enjoyed trips to our resort house in south Texas and to my uncles farm in west Texas. And, had fun boating and water skiing on family outings.
During my high school years I gained interest in photography, took guitar lessons, entered 24 hour running marathons and various other activities to raise money for charities, and was active in my church. I enjoyed going to dinner theatres with my family.
During my college years I enjoyed being in a sorority, hanging out at the student union building and The Dry Gulch with my friends, late computer programming nights on campus with friends, entering 24 hour dance marathons to raise money for various charities, and playing intramural sports.
I was a staff photographer for some local magazines, I was honored when a front cover was used by a radio station for their Christmas card. I also photographed local events and meetings, and worked as a technician, developing and printing black and white film, developing color slides and color film, and custom color printing.
I enjoyed many ski trips to Colorado with college friends and staying in condos on the slopes. Loved going to the Bahamas with my Mom, Stepdad, 2 brothers Michael and Mark, and winning contests with my twin brother Michael. Enjoyed going to Hawaii with college friends and going to the falls. Loved going to France with my Dad and my twin brother to visit and travel with a good friend of the family. Then, the following year, I had an incredible trip on a three week tour of Europe with my Mom, we went to 11 countries, I especially enjoyed seeing the attic Anne Frank hid in, and the Vatican in Italy, and the Olympic grounds and the Parthenon in Greece.
On one of my birthdays my Mom gave me a course at John Robert Powers Finishing and Modeling School, and my Dad (same birthday) gave me karate lessons. I took fewer college courses a couple of semesters to attend both.
After college I helped friends in business, set up computers. I learned to play bridge, and joined the Arlington Duplicate Bridge Club, and was a member of the American Contract Bridge League. I've played in sectional, regional, and national tournaments. Also played in a national tournament in France, my partner and I placed 8th in the nation. I joined and eventually became a life member of the Arlington Woman's Club. I was very active in my church. I bought my first house on the courthouse steps for back taxes, which my brothers and I restored. A year after I bought it, the area made the National Historic Register. I was a member of the Association of Independent Real Estate Owners, and of the Fairmount Association and served as a docent for 5 years for the home tours. I was Nominated for Marquis Who's Who of American Women in 1991 and 1993. In the early nineties I made several trips to Vegas and LA. I love walking along the beach in Santa Monica. In the mid nineties, I loved hanging out with friends at Vino's on Thursday nights. Over a 15 year period my twin brother and I won every dance contest that we ever entered, except for the first one.
In seventeen trips, I've spent over a year and a half in Europe. I love France, especially Paris. I love walking down the Champs Elysees with my Dad. I enjoyed yachting in the English Channel with my Dad and Stepmother, going to Nice and Monte Carlo, and traveling by Eurail and by the TGV. It was a moving experience seeing the tribute at Normandy, and walking through forests still filled with bomb holes.
