About Me

What started out as a solo project has turned into a jammin small group with a big sound.
Take an seasoned Bass player, add a Lead player who loves everything from George Jones to Stevie Ray Vaughn, throw in a kickin drummer and some good vocals and you have the Alan Parsons Band.
Though we may be just a four piece band, you'd never know it. A strong band with a full sound who enjoys playing to the crowd. Whether your wanting to have a two steppin good time or raise a glass and sing along to a good ole honky tonk classic, theres something for everyone young or old.
The only way to describe our music would be Traditional Texas Honky Tonkin Country and Western Swing. Every thing from Waylon to Hank jr. to Robert Earl Keen. Then we throw in a few originals and the night would not be complete without some Gary Stewart.
Winner of the Stars over the Brazos singer/songwriter contest hosted by 92.1 Country Legends, I have been blessed with all that has come my way in the music industry. The songs here were recorded at Lone Strar sound in Whitney, TX a few years ago in my first ever CD attempt. On the CD you will hear a few of my originals and some awsome musicians and truly good friends of mine. Though most of us have parted ways we still remain good friends and get together from time to time to jam.
Since I have been in music I have had the opportunity to open for a few local greats as Tommy Alverson, Randy Brown, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahue, Sonny Burges, and Gary P. Nunn to name a few. Not to mention I have gotten to play some truly memorable venues.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: drop me an email @ [email protected]
Band Members: Alan Parsons - Rythm Guitar
Ricky Morris - Bass Guitar
Bob Pritchard - Lead Guitar/Fiddle
Thomas Morris - Drums

Influences: I have hung around the guys that now make up the Hill City Playboy band most of my life and have always wanted to be like them. I was just a child when they played in the old schoolhouse in Hill City. They were much older, barely teenagers. They would let me on stage and I would say the only thing that came to mind......."Hello, I'm Johnny Cash"!I have had it in the back of my mind for years that I wanted to play and sing. Then I saw Brian Burns on stage at Tommy Alverson's Family Gatehring, I was hooked. Just him and his guitar, the laid back style, I knew that was what I wanted to do.
Sounds Like: I think it's kind of a cross between Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, and Peewee Hurman. Sometime a little like Marcel Ledbetter.
