Welcome! NYC Velo is a different kind of bike shop. Opened in May 2005, it is a shop owned and staffed by cyclists, for cyclists. All NYC Velo staff are bike professionals and are dedicated to offering the City’s highest quality customer service.We are a small, family-owned business catering to commuters, messengers, recreational, and serious cyclists. NYC Velo carries road, mountain, cyclocross, hybrid, singlespeed, and fixed gear bikes.NYC Velo is located in the East Village (2nd Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets). Owner Andrew Crooks, with the help of his family and friends, and Freecell Architecture, restored the space’s architectural elements and converted it into the highest quality bike shop in Manhattan (see pictures featured on nyvelocity.com).We believe a bike shop should be more than just a store - it should be a place for cyclists. NYC Velo is proud to have the only bike lounge in Manhattan, where cyclists can hang out, read a magazine, and enjoy free coffee and bagels.Our knowledgeable staff will help you select and size the right bicycle for you, whether you race, commute or just bike for fun and exercise. We will ensure that your bike is fitted properly so that you have the best ride possible. You can choose from a wide variety of styles and brands including Kona and Ridley.
We sell parts and accessories that really work, and we know they work because we use them. In addition to sales, we offer bike repair and storage services. Our trained mechanics can quickly and accurately fix virtually any bicycle ailment as well as professionally install components.Our highest priority is to deliver superior customer service by catering to each customer’s needs, offering helpful service and advice, and treating each customer as a valued member of the NYC Velo community.At NYC Velo, we believe that cycling is about more than machinery, it’s about being involved in the community through outreach and advocacy.
