Dave

I may look and be evil but that is no reason I can not be civil about matters

About Me

I work for a corporation. Enough said... (for those who know me at least)

My Interests

Ontology now thats a cool and hip interest isnt it? I mean come on what is more interesting than contemplating the meaning of being? Perhaps the answer to this question can be found in the pursuit of being. Whats more how can one go about using what information one already has about being without first contemplating the epistemological grounding of said information? While you are deep in thought about the paradox that is knowledge and being I will be shooting Pool because that is the meaning of my being in at the moment.

I'd like to meet:

Someone or someones who are open minded and generally intelligent also a dose of humor and a splash of political/philosophical interest would be nice. Other than that there is no one person I have a strong desire to meet.

Music:

Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Kings of Leon, Outkast, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, The Smashing Pumpkins, Aesop Rock, The Grateful Dead, wow there are a lot of bands still to be named so Ill leave that task to another day. More recently The Pixies have taken up most of my ear's attention

Movies:

Waking Life aside from being an interesting compilation of relative and existential thought set in the back drop of some pretty trippy animation the main character looks alot like me... Oh Vanity thy name is Dave. (Pretty bland name if you ask me) there are more but it should be noted that I dont feel like listing all of them out right now just know that the movie above will change along with a quote to summarize it

Television:

Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Southpark, well I guess I can condense this by saying Adult swim and most of Comedy central

Books:

1984 oddly enough I was originally drawn to this book because it has my birth year as the title I wonder if any other kid was drawn to this Orwellian classic because of that? Animal farm, The communist manifesto and my current project was Being and Nothingness by Jean Paul Sarte but it is proving to be too time consuming and a bit hard to understand so I am now reading some of his plays ie No Exit and Nausea.

Heroes:

Karl Marx I mean come on who else can get away with saying "Religion is the opiate of the masses" ummmm opium oh wait thats not at all what Marx means by that but whatever perception is reality and opium and or religion alters it in some way however one is a crushing ideology that requires you to sacrifice in this life to gain in the next life and the other you can find in Dens in Europe
