I sang in the kitchen with my mom and all her friends after they’d come home from the bar at 1:00am when I was 4 or so. I remember there was one song which was my song to sing. It was called "Superman", an old country tune. It started out "here ya go pickin on me again"...I remember every word to this day. I guess when you grow up you try to get as far away from what your parents like for fear of being uncool so enter Madonna. I even had one lace glove (what was I thinking). Madonna the master of regeneration. In the 90’s I saw every alternative concert including the first Lalapuluza with Jane’s Addiction. I also saw Jane’s at the Concert Hall in Toronto. That was awsome. I saw the Red Hot Chilly Peppers there as well and I met the band after. Flea is my favorite - for some reason bass players intregue me. I also met Anthony, Chad, and John but Flea actually hung out and talked to me. I’ve also met Chris Cornell, whose voice in my opinion is amazing. I used to model when I was in my twenties and my agent, Maggie, asked me to come and try out to be a singer for a guy who wrote songs in Cubase or somthing like it. I never sang in public before this (except the church choir) but I got the gig. Sylvio Dee andCarlos Clarke gave me some electronic music and asked me to write a song to it. Sylvio gave me the idea to make it positive, about peace love and happiness so I wrote Reachin’. When it came to recording Sylvio came up with an idea and put in a cool speaking part which really put it into another catagory. Well the song got on the radio and the excitment started. We were on Electric Circus, on Much Music did radio interviews and some pretty huge shows. I think the biggest one was over 5000 people. Pretty freaky. The song stayed on the radio for 13 months (including the remix) and it was on the dance charts for that long . When it died down I started writing Gosple music (my heart), but I never had the money to record those songs. My husband (an aspiring music producer) is trying to find the time to get my partner, Ken MacInnis, and me into his basement studio to record the "Gosple Jungle Project". I’m hoping this will happen soon. I’m married now and have two sweety pie kiddos one is 5 years old and the youngest almost 2 years old. I’m happy but very very tired. My husband and I are helping his dad with a project about the Donnellys. We’ve had some success with "The Donnelly Song" written by Ray Fazakas with music and production by Derek Fazakas. It’s been played on the CBC and usually gets air play on February 4th every year (Donnelly Day). Well I hope to get some more songs up soon and I hope you like what you hear. God Bless and thanks for comming by..........................................................
