..The Big Buddy Program's WordPlay Teen Writing Project engages teens from diverse communities in spoken word poetry and self-expression as away to harness the power of young people's voices and stories. WordPlay builds this literary community for Baton Rouge teens through writing workshops, open-mics, poetry slams, publications, and educator resources. You at the 2008 ALL CITY Teen Poetry Slam Festival April 3rd-May 3rd @ various locations.Every Thursday in April the first series of preliminary slam bouts will be held at the BREC Administrative Building, 6201 Florida Blvd from 6:30pm-8:30pm...That's April 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24thFriday May 2nd the second series of preliminary slam bouts will be held at the Belfair Teen Center, 4390 Fairfields Ave. from 10am-12pm & 7pm-9pm AND at the BREC Administrative Building, 6201 Florida Blvd from 10am-12pm & 7pm-9pmSaturday May 3rd the ALL CITY open mic/block party will be held on the Fest For All fair grounds from 3:30pm-6pm and FINALS will be held from 7pm-9pm!!!The teams competing in this year's festival are: EBR Lab Academy Broadmoor High Istrouma High Belaire High Southeast Middle Robert E.
