Chocolate Riveros

"LOS CAJONES DE CHOCOLATE RIVEROS" é uma banda de percussão com uma característica bastante peculiar: a base dos seus instrumentos é a madeira. Dentre estes, o mais conhecido e fundamental instrumento do grupo é o CAJON de origem peruana. Os outros instrumentos utilizados no espetáculo são: cajita, kingcajon, bigcajon, cajongo, cajongon, rumcajon, quijada, bemba e efeitos. “LOS CAJONES” começou em Salvador/Ba, em 2001 com Chocolate e Carlinhos Brown, com o nome de “Macajon”. Este início levou a várias apresentações além de produzir a trilha sonora para a Companhia de Dança Contemporânea Balé Teatro Castro Alves, no estúdio Ilha dos Sapos, Candeal / Salvador-Ba, em março de 2002. A trilha foi produzida por Carlinhos Brown e Alê Siqueira e composta especialmente para o espetáculo da companhia intitulado PRACATUM - Entrevolto Eletrovalsa Roots, estreiada de 02 a 04 de maio de 2002. Participo do disco Lamp Fall na música "Sama kaani xeen" do músico Africano Cheikh Lô produzido por Alê Siqueira, em 2004. 2007/2008 Apoiado pela ONG Sambatá em São Paulo. Os músicos componentes são de diferentes nacionalidades, incluindo Brasil, Perú, Argentina e EUA.A música Vários ritmos afro-peruanos são desenvolvidos pelo grupo, a saber: festejo, lando, alcatraz, dentre outros. A estes ritmos também são acrescentadas algumas características afro-cubanas e afro-brasileiras.O espetáculo Em suas apresentações, Macajon utiliza outras formas de expressão da arte, além da música, como teatro, poesia, dança e sapateado. O espetáculo reúne todos esses recursos artísticos para contar a história afro do Perú, país com uma minoria negra (apenas 300 mil habitantes), mas com uma forte e rica herança africana. A herança dessa cultura está bem representada no espetáculo pla sensualidade negra, através da dança, bem como pela força dos ritmos negros, através dos tambores de maneira.O diretorEber Riveros (Chocolate), nascido no Peru em 1976 é um músico de larga formação e experiência. Desde 1996 vem desenvolvendo uma pesquisa musical sobre as heranças africanas na América do Sul. Deste empenho, sucederam muitos trabalhos relacionados ao seus interesses de intercâmbio. Neste projeto, tratamos de “LOS CAJONES”, onde integra várias expressões artísticas em um só espetáculo. Com música, poesia, dança e sapateado apresenta ritmos afro-peruanos como o Festejo, o Lando e Alcatraz entre outras influências, contando histórias e vivências dos povos sul-americanos. Amongst these, the most known and basic instrument of the group it is the CAJON of Peruvian origin. The other instruments used in the spectacle are: cajita, kingcajon, bigcajon, cajongo, cajongon, rumcajon, quijada, bemba and effect. Beyond the percussion it still has the accompaniment of voice and violão. The component musicians are of different nationalities, including Brazil, Perú, Argentina and U.S.A.. The Macajon beginning was born in the Candeal Ghetto (Salvador/Ba - Brazil), in May of 2001 idealized by the director Eber Riveros, pseudonym Chocolate, Peruvian, and for the Carlinhos musician Brown, which gave the name to the band and made possible its first formation, yielding the space of the Pracatum School for place of assays. Initially all the components of abanda were percussionistas of the community. But with the time new musicians, Brazilians and of other nationalities had been if integrating. Objectives the group has for purpose the musical research, giving new registers to the percussion; insertion of new musicians of different cultures for the enrichment of the cultural interchange, and the spreading of the culture afro-Peruvian, which little is remembered, but very rich. Music Some rhythms afro-Peruvians are developed by the group, to know: festejo, lando, gannet, amongst others. To these rhythms also some afro-Cuban characteristics and afro-Brazilians are added. The spectacle In its presentations, Macajon uses other forms of expression of the art, beyond music, as theater, poetry, dance and sapateado. The spectacle congregates all these artistic resources to count to history afro of the Perú, country with a black minority (only 300 a thousand inhabitants), but with strong one and rich African inheritance. The inheritance of this culture well is represented in the spectacle pla black sensuality, through the dance, as well as for the force of the black rhythms, through the tambores in way. The director Eber Riveros, pseudonym Chocolate, are Peruvian and artist since the four years of age, when he started to have contact with the art through music. Initially self-taught, he improved its musical knowledge in the conservatories of music of Lima/Perú and Caracas/Venezuela. It comes developing a musical research in the African South America and its inheritances, since 1996. He was integrant of some Peruvian groups since infancy. E already participated of record writings of diverse Brazilian artists as Carlinhos Brown, Arnaldo Antunes and Jose Winisck. As professor/facilitador, it offered some workshops of music in different countries of America of the South In Salvador/Ba - Brazil was professor of percussion of the Cultural Group Bagunçaço and the Pracatum School, in 2001. In 2002 he was faciliatdor of the courses of theoretical and practical percussion of the Program of Professional Qualification for Cultural Workers Afrodescendentes of the State University of the Bahia. As managing musical comedy, it acted in the Dilatasom band of the Cultural Group Bagunçaço, and currently it works with the Sucatamania band of the same cultural group in Salvador-Ba. Also dirige, beyond the Macajon band, the band of Latin jazz Latin Bus Band.
