I'm one of the few American actors to have worked with the Italian neo-realist film movement (1961-1990). I began working as a film actor in Italy with Bernardo Bertolucci (1900, Before the Revolution). He asked me to be in his first film THE GRIM REAPER written by PASOLINI. My part was to play a Calabrese peasant soldier. I also worked with the Swiss-French director Jean Luc Godard as actor appearing in WIND FROM THE EAST written by Danny Cohn-Bandit who led the student revolution in Paris, 1968. In WIND, I played a third world Indian. After seeing Bertolucci's BEFORE THE REVOLUTION thirty five times (!), Andy Warhol asked me to star in his first films. According to history, in 1967 I became one of the original Warhol Superstars. In the fall of that year, after working on numerous pictures with Andy, Warhol was booked to lecture at various American universities; since he was too busy with his artwork he asked me to go instead--always up for an adventure and the chance to get some money out of Andy, I said, "Yes." I appeared as Andy Warhol at 4 colleges, and this tour has been referred to as "THE GREATEST HOAX OF THE CENTURY."At the present time I'm living in Woodstock, NY, working on a book tentatively titled "I WAS ANDY WARHOL". I am also doing my art projects which include: painting, leather design, collage and video.
