Our group was established in May 2005 as part of the RSA (Royal Society of Arts) Coffeehouse Challenge to promote the advancement of Fairtrade and related issues in Eastbourne. The group has now adopted core objectives for our campaign:To campaign for and help facilitate obtaining Fairtrade Town Status for Eastbourne.To raise awareness and encourage the supply of Fairtrade Mark goods of all kinds in the widest possible range of businesses in our town.To raise awareness and encourage the purchase of Fairtrade Mark goods of all kinds by as many local and visiting shoppers to Eastbourne.To campaign for key local organisations such as the Borough Council, schools, churches, theatres, public leisure and catering facilities to stock and offer Fairtrade food and goods options.
