The band was founded in 1997, when Lord Messir created a project named DOMINATION which performed death metal. In 1998 Lord Messir decided to change the bands name to DARK DOMINATION because he also changed the music style to true black metal. Since the beginning of all musical activities a lot of musicians were invited to join the band, but they left before long. The reason was not understanding Lord Messir s ideas 100 precent. In 1999 Lodbrok joined the band and was fulltime band member till 2006 when Halpas replaced him.
