RL Music Group presents Jerell. Born in Joliet,IL this young man started into the entertainment industry at age 9. Working on his craft in numerous public functions Jerell could be seen in almost every talent show in his local area. Eventually departing his hometown to persue an acting career Jerell soon realized that music would follow him wherever he went.
While travelling through the south he met up with a multi-platinum producer by the name of Que. On a whim, Jerell visited the producer's studio to interview for an intern position. After disclosing his past interest in hip hop, Jerell was asked to audition on the spot. After 8 bars of freestyle Jerell was signed to a management deal.While watching songs get penned for the likes of "Kirk Franklin"and others, Jerell established himself as a chart topping producer along the way. Jerell has worked with artists such as "Mr.Coop" "Goldie-Loc" "DJ. Kevy-Kev"and many others.In 2002 he put out his first compilation disc titled "In The Lab" with several local artist in the Texas New Mexico area. The demand for the disc kept supply short forcing outside distribution help. Approximately 15,000 units were sold to date.Deciding to step out on his own in 2007, Jerell formed RL Music Group
in 2006. Bringing his mentor and friend Que on board as apart of the production team. The first project due out will be the highly anticipated "Momentum." Taughted by music insiders to be "the next hip hop superpower," Jerell has been getting alot of attention lately. But if you ask him he remains tight-lipped about the reported 2.5million dollar distribution deal on the table from "Priority" which is best known from "Interscope Records."For now Jerell lives lo-key somewhere in his hometown after hurricane Katrina relocated him from his beachfront home in Gulfport,Mississippi. Always the optimist Jerell stays focused by remaining in the studio, and smiling about the release of his first album.
