Born into a family of musicians Lisa "LADY" Berrien always knew she would become a musician of her own. Learning how play to the piano at a young age by watching her grandmother, and born with an angelic voice she took it upon herself to pursue a dream. She was born in Camden, NJ and raised between Philadelphia, PA., Wilmington DE, and the DC Metropolitan area throughout her high school years. With a strong belief in God LADY knows she can do anything she puts her mind to.At 17 she joined the United States Air Force serving as a combat photographer in an intelligence unit in CA, where she got a little taste of Hollywood. She recorded her first demo in the dorm room on base that her and her fellow musicians called the "ghetto lab". By close southern friends on base Lisa was always referred to as Ms. Lady, which is a common term for women in the south. Moving back to Delaware to pursue a degree in Mass Communications Radio Production and minor in music, the nick name stuck with her and was shortened to LADY, and that's how she will be refrenced here on out.For those of you who are mature in age, LADY's mother (R.I.P.) Vanessa Berrien has sang for the likes of Millie Jackson, Patti Labelle, Lola Folana, and a group she was a member of called Pure Gold. LADY's godmother Cynthia Garrison is currently a lasting member of the legendary Philly trio The Three Degrees and her godfather Cubby St. Charles has sang with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. So as you can see she will be no amature at making music that not only sounds good but feels good as well.Currently LADY is an active member on her school's radio station at Delaware State University and is always found on Friday nights in the station or on stage at a school event. She has performed so far at the Rennaisance Hotel in LA California, the 2005 Philly Fashion Expo, 2005-2006 Ocean City Car and Bike Show, 2005-2006 Funk Master Flex Celebrity Car and Bike Show Tour in Ocean City Maryland, Atlantic City NJ, and Edison NJ, Extreme Night Club Dover DE, Delaware State University Homecoming events; and she has opened for Megan Rochelle, Shareefa and Sam Scarfo just to name a few. LADY looks forward to being in the entertainment world on or off stage, thus the reason for pursuing a degree in Radio Production. She's talented, attractive, smart and is very involved in the production of her own music from writing the songs, recording all of her own vocals, and even assists in the final production. Two of her favorite DJ's and close friends are DJ AMAZE and DOC B of Power 99 FM.
