About Me

Shelley Moore was born and raised in England where she sang in nightclubs and appeared on television. She also toured Europe and the U.S.A.Her first recording was for the British EMI Columbia label, recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studio, followed by the British Esquire jazz label, Starlite. After touring the U.S. and deciding to become a permanent resident, she was signed by Chess Productions for their Argo label and subsequently recorded the album "For The First Time". backed by such jazz greats as Ramsey Lewis, Eddie Harris, Plas Johnson and John Collins. The LP has recently been re-mastered and re-issued as a Jazz Classic by Verve Universal. Her most recent CDs are "Moore Moods" and "Travelin' Light".After marrying an American, Shelley decided to stop touring to be with her husband and children. However, she continues to delight audiences in Orange County with a diverse range of material, including her own compositions, several of which she has recorded. Band Members: I have worked with some great musicians including pianists Cecilia Coleman, Les Czimber, Ron Kobayashi, Si Eubanks, Don Chatfield, Llew Matthews, Tad Weed, Mark Massey, Karen Hammack, Jerry Schroeder, Steve Conforti, bass players Dave Carpenter, Richard Simon, Ken Filiano, Baba Elefante, Benjamin May, drummers Dick Berk, Kendall Kay, Paul Kreibich, Steve Dixon, trumpeter Steve Huffsteter and saxophonist Benn Clatworthy, Doug MacDonald, guitarist, and many other wonderful musicians too numerous to list here. Also, it was a great experience recording with the Ramsey Lewis Trio, Plas Johnson and Eddie Harris, and the great guitarist John Collins.
