The Homebillies

About Me

Bio as of December 7, 2006The HomeBillies were started in 1995 by Mike Livingston (Mandolin, Vox) Formerly of The Mau-Mau’s, Legal Weapon and Lock-Up, Steve Casadont (Guitar, Vox), Mike Lee (Drums) and Walter Spencer (Acoustic Bass) future bassist of the Bluegrass Bastards. Walter quit after a couple of rehersals and was replaced after a lengthy search by Bob Seals (electric bass) formerly of sixties band Clear Light. The HomeBillies early shows usually occurred in Pasadena where they started picking up a following usually playing at The John Bull Pub (now extinct). They also played in Hollywood at venues like Bar Deluxe and Ronnie Mack’s barndance (were they had their cd release party) back when it was at the Sugar Shack on Hollywood and Vine. The HomeBillies recorded an EP in 1997 at Big Scary Tree studios of the Alameda Corridor and then promptly disbanded when Steve moved to Georgia and the other members found it impossible to deal with Livingston. The second line-up included Larry Go and Scott Boyd. Current line-up consists of Scott Boyd (Fiddle, Vox), Mike Livingston (Guitar, Vox), Cliff Latimer (Mando, Vox) formerly of The Spike Drivers and David Orser (Acoustic Bass). After a lengthy dormant period the band was revived by playing parties on the patio in front of Mike’s apartment at Waverly Gardens. Gigs at actual clubs and more recordings impend.
