About Me

CT, which stands for Connecticut, was a 2 man R&B singing group (from 2000-2002). Consisting of Antonio McLendon (Waterbury, CT) and Andre' "mrDEYO" Deyo (Paterson, NJ) the two were inseparable after their first meeting through Antonio's cousin. mrDEYO, who was then known for placing "I Got Love (Scars)" on Koffee Brown's debut release album "Mars/Venus" (2000), used his industry connections to gain the attention of several people in the music industry. Friend and producer Chris "CL" Liggio introduced the group to Jeff Dixon of Ebony Sun Management (Ludacris) who signed the group to a production deal. Finding it hard to actually record the material with no studio, TS.A's Christi Maia eventually introduced Deyo to Troy Oliver ("Differences" Ginuwine) who became their producer, and Prince Markie Dee (The Fat Boys), who became their manager and shopped the group to several labels. Aside from being artists Antonio was a music producer who could play 6 instruments and Deyo was a songwriter who @ the time had written over 1,200 songs. Deyo taught Antonio to write, while Antonio opened Deyo up to his intricate layers of harmonies. They were both vocal producers. Deyo's passion for writing and behind the scenes work led to the two separating as a group but not as a dynamic writing team. They would become the first writers to sign to Cory Rooney ("Independant Women", Destiny's Child" and "Real Love" Mary J. Blige). A few months later Deyo penned "Jenny From The Block" and "I'm Glad" for Jennifer Lopez both produced by Troy Oliver. Antonio landed a major recording deal with Dr. Dre's AfterMath Entertainment after being involved in a bidding war with Pharrell's StarTrak Entertainment. His deal was for 1 million dollars (like Eminem and 50 Cent). The duo worked on his album collaborating on half of the songs together including "If U Want It (DJ)" featuring The Game. In 2003 a song they had origionally recorded for their group titled "Chedda Brings" landed on Ginuwine's fourth release "The Senior", which featured their background vocals, prodominantly Antonio's distinct ad-libs and unmistakable runs. Deyo also wrote "Big Plans" for that same album which featured Method Man and Deyo's backgrounds (although the album does not credit his backgrounds on either song and has errors in nearly all of the lyrics on the insert).
