Starting as a self-taught pianist, his real experience as a musician began with playing the piano live for covers bands in bars and at private parties. This is how he came to discover his own individual sound and to enrich it with the varied range of styles that he was able to play in these groups (funk, rock, reggae, acid jazz, bossanova, salsa). But however valuable the stage experience may have been, he still lacked experience of studio work, not just as a session musician but - especially - in terms of production. So he decided to invest in some studio equipment to become familiar with using it and also to travel - mainly to London - to learn how to develop these techniques.During his travels, he built up contacts in the music industry by playing for Sugababes on programmes like the BBCs Top of the Pops and on Channel 4s CDUK.This gave him opportunities to work on several R & B, Hip Hop and House projects, with various producers and singers.Imran Hanif from Dead Relative, with his wide-ranging experience of remix, was especially helpful with improving his rhythmic programming and his use of studio effects, sequencers and mixing. It was after this varied experience that he decided that it was time to make his album, combining this electronic dimension, a current trend that especially interests him, with the live funk dimension that is one of his original musical influences. His main sources of inspiration for this project are French groups like Trouble Makers, St Germain, DJ Cam and Daft Punk and foreign groups like Jazzanova, Groove Armada, Kruder und Dörfmeister, Thievery Corporation, Fila Brazillia, Massive Attack and Art of Noise. The Fly
