When it comes to selecting entertainers, Chosen Sounds prides itself on being one of the few studios in Antigua dedicated to recognizing, and developing talent, from any genre of urban music, Whether it is Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B, Latin, Soca or Reggae.
Officially In 1998, J.Omari Harrigan, a music lover, began this awesome mission to start Chosen Sounds Studio aimed at creating new and innovative music and cutting edge audio services. Since its birth this studio has become one of the most vibrant and cutting edge studios in existence on the small Caribbean island of Antigua.
Though conceived in Antigua, the recording and entertainment aspect of the business flourished in Canada, where Harrigan was able to work with established DJs, sound systems and Artists such as Bass Odyssey, Black Reaction, Gunz & Roses, Lindo P & Blessed. Zee Original Bass Odyssey of Jamaica, was the first international push by promoting the release of a mixed Cd Compiled and recorded at Chosen Sounds. Shortly thereafter, Blessed, an artist working at Chosen Sounds won a Juno (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy). Although Hungry to witness the explosion of Chosen Sounds in Canada, Harrigan had a vision to return home to work with young artists and their music in Antigua.
Naturally, by increasing his area of expertise, Harrigan linked up with another dynamite individual Jus Bus and they together helped to form musical personalities locally. (Although Jus Bus is no longer an intricate part of the organization, both individuals continue to collaborate Musically). Though many have aspired at being taken under its wings, being incorporated into the exclusive Chosen Sounds does not come easily and only the very best are allowed in. In their quest to improve the quality of music produced on the island, Chosen Sounds began the catalyst for change when they launched the careers of Souljah Man (Peace War), Jashan Hughes (Take Me Away), and Naycha Kid (Wave It).
Chosen Sounds has worked with a diverse array of entertainers throughout Antigua - JM, Chello, Fucha Kid, Promise, Kenne Blessin, Carlos, Shamobe, Claudette Peters, J.I, Lee Pee Ching, Logic & more; In the Wider region, T.O.K, Mr.Slaughter, Toni Norvile, Bobby Brown, Kevin Lyttle & others. Presently we are working on music with Fucha Kid. These We now work with Cobweb as Head producer (also one of our studio managers)!!!
Since our humble inception, we have expanded our professional services to include: Jingles & commercials, professional Voice Talent, On Hold Messaging, Audio Recording, Production, Blank Media Sales and Caribbean Ringtone Distribution.
Always seeking for ways to expand, the Chosen Sounds Studio hopes to enrich the artform for future generations here in Antigua and together we will consistently make a positive musical impact on the rest of the world!
