You may not know me now, but you will...
Life as a published novelist can go in many directions. I started writing when I was eight, and since then, I've gone down a number of useful yet perhaps unproductive paths for a writer. Finally, I've found the inner and outer focus I need to keep moving forward.
A brief and perhaps unorthodox personal history...
Born in California , yet lived early years in the southern states. With uneducated parents, I lived mostly in poverty. After high school, there was the US Marine Corps, a botched appointment to the US Naval Academy, combat service in Vietnam , and then college on the GI Bill.
After college, there was my first underemployment job, more than one failed marriage, and way too many other things that went unexpectedly sideways. One success was easily followed by two deeper failures.
Can anyone else relate to this?
Finally, I came back to what I love most.
In 1994, I came back to writing. Over time, there were publishing contracts, movie options, and more story ideas than I could keep up with. The Internet was changing business things all around me. That was the game I needed to play in.
Now, I'm online. Building online business and literary web sites, getting 2nd editions published, and learning to fly this beast they call a BLOG. There’s so much more to learn. Come on, join with me for the wild ride.
