We are a rock & roll trio based out of Los Angeles. We cover the most awesome, fun, slammin pop and rock tunes from the 70's, 80's, and 90's.....If it's timeless and it kicks butt, we'll play it! We also have original music that we like to throw into the set - you can check out the originals on the other myspace page in the band link. myspace/kimjadefry.These three performers have an amazing energy on stage and the skill to capture the vibe of all of the big hits of the day. But what makes The Poprocks so unique is their charismatic female front person, Kim Jade Fry. Kim is an exceptionally strong bassist and lays down the groove on the bass while effortlessly covering a wide range of vocal styles. She can capture the vibe of anything from Pat Benetar to The Pretenders and can cover songs that are usually only sung by men, like hits from ZZ Top or John Cougar.Rounding out the Poprocks are Michael Martinsson on vocals and guitar and Erik Eldinius on the drums. On some occasions we may have Moni on vocals and guitar or Adam Gershon on the drums. Each member of this band is a professional with years of musical experience in clubs, large venues, and studios. They are all great performers and top musicians. Kim first started working professionally years ago, on the rock circuit in South Florida, playing up and down the east coast as a top Cellar Door Productions act. She then went on to form blues and soul bands to perform in Miami and the Florida Keys. After that, she returned to her home state of NY to rock NYC with her original music - 2 years ago she relocated to Los Angeles to form 'The Poprocks'
